For any students who just love to run, we will begin winter running next Tuesday, December 4. Students interested should come prepared to go out in the cold and run about 2-3 miles. We will meet every Tuesday from 3:00-4:00 PM by the Lincoln statue. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Hames or Mrs. Anderson.

The Spartan Food Pantry located at West Elementary School is open this Wednesday from 4:30PM-6:30PM. The Pantry is open to any family that has a student attending a Sycamore School-Just bring a photo ID.

The pantry is a choice-pantry that offers frozen foods (burgers, chicken tenders, other meats), fresh produce, dairy products, canned goods, snacks, treats, and much more. Families can come to the pantry every time it is open and choose what items they would or would not like to take.

We would like to invite you to visit the Scholastic Book Fair at Sycamore Middle School! The book fair will be held from November 26th-30th in the school library from 8:00 AM – 3:15 PM. There will be a wide selection of books ranging from grades 1st-8th. The inventory will include books from fiction, graphic novels, nonfiction and many others that students, staff, and family will enjoy. Books make great rewards, birthday presents, holiday presents and so much more.

If you prefer to shop online, please go to our book fair website. The site will be open from November 18 – December 1.

During the fair, we will host 3 events. All events will be held in the library.

At least every other year, districts throughout Illinois are asked to participate in the 5Essential survey to gather information from our faculty, students and parents to gain insight in the key components of all successful schools. These areas include effective leaders, collaborative teachers, involved families, supportive environments, and ambitious instruction.

The results of the survey responses are reported back to the schools for their review and planning for future school improvement focus items within the five areas.

We need your assistance and your feedback. As a district, we have chosen to provide the opportunity for you, the parents/guardians of our students, to offer us feedback via the 5Essentials parent survey. The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and can be completed on your smart device.

Your participation in the parent survey will help us understand the conditions here at the school and guide improvement. Your identity and individual survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child.

To take the survey, click here.

Thank you, in advance, for your time and participation.
