Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday, November 25 and Tuesday, November 26 from 1:00-8:00 PM. We will utilize online scheduling for 6th grade, 7th grade, PE, Allied Arts, and Special Education. Each teacher is available for an individual conference on one of the two days. Online scheduling opened on November 1 at 12:01 AM. In order to schedule a conference, please click here. 8th grade conferences are being scheduled by the team teachers – more information went home with your student.


SMS Veteran’s Day Breakfast 

SMS will be holding its 3rd Veteran’s Day Breakfast on Friday, November 8 in the SMS Commons. Breakfast will start at 8:00 AM and go until 8:20 AM. If you would like to attend please email jgudewicz@syc427.org to RSVP, or click here for Sign-Up Genius. 


Book Fair

Mark your calendars! The Hocus Pocus Book Fair is coming soon, and we will transform the library into our very own book store. There you will find hundreds of books from new and favorite authors, popular series, cool posters, and school supplies. The Hocus Pocus Book Fair will be here from Wednesday, October 30 to Tuesday, November 5. Everyone is invited! As always, we are asking for volunteers

G-Force

Attention all girls!!! Are you interested in Science-Technology-Engineering-and Math??? Do you like solving problems? How about learning the latest scientific discoveries? Well then G-Force is for you. G-Force is a new club for girls that are interested in all things STEM. If you would like to apply to be in G-Force please see Mrs. Gudewicz in 6th grade, Mrs. Zipse in 7th grade, and Mrs. Peterson in 8th grade for an application. 


Spartan Wrestling

It is time to sign up for Spartan Wrestling. The dates are Wednesday, October 30 and Monday, November 4 at 3:00-3:45 PM at Sycamore Middle School. It is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. The first practice will be Monday, November 11 at the SHS Field House. If you are unable to make the sign-up dates, please sign up in the Main Office and call Coach Culton at (815) 975-8570. Students must be registered on the 8 to 18 website. There will also be a parent meeting on Wednesday, November 6 at 5:30 PM at the SHS Field House.


YMCA Jr High Club 

Looking for something to do with your friends on Friday nights? Come check out our Jr. High Y Club that offers a fun and safe environment full of games, music and activities. This program will give middle school students a place to go in order to relax and hang out with friends, learn more about themselves and how they can make a positive impact in their community. 

Location: Kishwaukee YMCA

Time: 6:30-8:00 PM

Dates: November 8 & 22 and December 13

Member Fee: Free

Program Participant Fee: $5/night
