The Infinite Book Fair is the week of April 8-12, and the library will be transformed into our very own book store. There you will find hundreds of books from new and favorite authors, popular series, cool posters, school supplies, and fun for everyone. As always, we need volunteers to make our book fair successful. If you would be interested in volunteering, please click here.

Each month, the SMS PTO provides lunch for teachers and staff. We are still looking for people to donate items and volunteer for the March PTO Staff Lunch. If you are able to assist, please click here.

The SMS News Team is collecting feedback from past students about their middle school experiences for an upcoming segment. If you would like to participate in giving some responses to help them out, please click here.

Any 8th grade girl interested in playing tennis next year, there will be an informational meeting on Thursday, March 21 at 7:55 AM in the 6th grade extended learning area.

The Spartan Food Pantry located at West Elementary School is open this Wednesday, March 20, from 4:30-6:30 PM. The Pantry is open to any family that has a student attending a Sycamore School. Just bring a photo ID.

The pantry is a choice-pantry that offers frozen foods (burgers, chicken tenders, other meats), fresh produce, dairy products, canned goods, snacks, treats, and much more. Families can come to the pantry every time it is open and choose what items they would or would not like to take. The next one is Wednesday, April 3.

It’s time to “Plunge Into Fitness”. This year you can participate until Friday, April 5. The logs are in the Commons, next to the nurse’s office. If you complete the log, you will win a pass to Raging Waves Water Park.

The last day of school will be Thursday, May 30. Students will be dismissed at 11:00 AM. Other end of the year events and activities will be updated on our website calendar.

The Board of Education has approved the 2019-2020 Academic Year Calendar. The calendar is similar to past years and we will continue to use President’s Day in February as an Emergency Day. This allows for instructional time to be made up earlier, rather than adding time on at the end of the year.
