4th Quarter Allied Arts

Please make sure your student is signed up in his/her 4th quarter allied art’s Google Classroom. As March 16 was the first day of both 4th quarter and remote learning, this is the only contact allied arts teachers have had with students. You and your student can find 4th quarter classes in the Campus Portal (Parent or Student). Please email the teacher to receive the Google Classroom code if needed.

Remote Learning Guidelines

The new guidance from the Illinois State Board of Education provides assessment recommendations on the grading of student work during remote learning. The District will begin assessing student work for our middle school and high school students. Assessment of a student’s work during remote learning can improve a student’s grade, but will not negatively impact their overall grade or their academic standing.

In grades 6-12 if a student has not accessed a course for two consecutive days through their Google Classroom and/or Canvas account, the teacher or building administration will reach out to the student to check-in regarding their participation and/or accessibility to learning opportunities.

Spring Activities Cancellation

IESA has canceled sports and activities for the middle school level. This includes scholastic bowl, track, and bowling. Spring sports fees for track and bowling will be refunded by the district. Credit card and check refunds will be issued in the same manner as original payment was received. Cash payments will be refunded in the form of a check.

Forever a Spartan

If your student has not done so, please encourage him or her to join the Forever a Spartan Google Classroom. We will use this site as a safe way for students to connect and engage with each other and staff. Google Classroom code: ebsyizz. Today we posted a great video explaining the hail that recently hit Sycamore, made by our very own YouTube star, Mr. Hames!

The SMS yearbook staff is requesting photo submissions of students working on eLearning assignments, projects, reading a favorite book, or anything that is school related! Please email photos to Mrs. Del Fiacco and include your student’s first and last name, grade, and team. Yearbook sales are going on now through Friday, April 17! You may order here and enter school code 16551. Stay tuned for updates!

Art Club

Attention Art Clubbers! Please join our Google Classroom so you can keep creating, even from home! Google Classroom code: vz23dv7.
