Sixth Grade Team Venture

On Team Venture, it is our goal to help students make a smooth transition from elementary to middle school as students make new friends, face new challenges, and learn new ways of doing things. It is our goal to help our students become involved in school activities and follow our school’s core values of respect, responsibility, and building relationships. Middle school is filled with many changes and challenges for both child and parents; yet this is an exciting time, and we want to make the venture as smooth as possible.

We have a wide range of teaching experience and we look forward to assisting your student meet the challenges of 6th grade. We have included some informational items below to help your family become acquainted with team procedures.

Communication

We strongly believe that the school and home need to work together to maximize the education your child receives. Please do not hesitate to contact us for any reason. We would prefer to handle something early before in escalates into something big. We are excited to work with you and your child as they transitions into middle school.

For updates on classwork, homework, and announcements visit the SMS Remote Learning page, Google Classroom, and the Remind app. Early in the school year, most teachers send an email to all parents for access to these tools.

Late Work Policy/Absences

All work is expected to be completed on time to have in class in order to enhance the level of learning that takes place during class time. Missing work due to absences can be acquired by checking the Google Classroom, contacting a reliable classmate, or contacting the teacher at an appropriate time during class.

Students should make daily use of their assignment notebook.

Campus Parent Portal

Your student’s graded work is a good indicator of performance in each class. Please use the Campus Parent Portal to review your student’s grades on a regular basis. Grade reports will not be mailed to your home, so regular checks of your child’s progress will help to ensure his or her success. If you have concerns, it is a good idea to email or call the individual teacher.
